Durely Camp and Retreat Center

Durley Camp and Retreat Center is hiring two positions. Both positions will be direct reports to the Board of Durley Camp and Retreat Center and also manage staff duties in their respective areas.

Position 1 Operations Director

This position will be responsible for the fiscal operation of the campground. They will manage the budget and hours of staff. Insurance, compliance, and reports will be the responsibility of this position. Additional responsibilities may include hosting groups on the campground. We anticipate the position will require on average 20 hours a week paid at a rate of $20/hour.

Position 2 Guest Services Director

This position will be responsible for guest experience at Durley Camp. They will be in charge of rentals (contracts, communication, follow-up, etc.). They will coordinate events and host groups as needed. They will also supervise the camp staff in their guest related work. We anticipate the position will require on average 12 hours a week paid at a rate of $20/hour.

Somerset Beach - Program Director
Our program director coordinates all of our camp program ministries throughout the year! This position is full-time and year round.

Director of Donor Relations - Oakdale Christian Academy

The Director of Donor Relations is responsible for designing, implementing and coordinating an institution-wide donor relation and stewardship system that appropriately and consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels.

Performance Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee activities for building and sustaining positive relations between the Academy and its donors.
• Oversee the acknowledgement and receipting process for all gifts including but not limited to acknowledgement letters (monthly, quarterly, annually, campaign specific), year-end giving statements, for all gifts received from donors.
• Prepare documents needed for various stewardship / scholarship communications including annual scholarship statements to donors of endowed scholarships.
• Assist in fundraising for current fund and special projects including relationship building with donors, churches, and the local community.
• Assist office personnel in receiving campus guests, giving tours, and answering incoming calls.
• Assist in coordination and hosting work teams and visiting campus groups.
• Represent the institution at churches and denominational conferences, and coordinate ministry team activities and travel with student groups.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Assist the COO in organizational, clerical and secretarial matters, including, but not limited to:
    • Coordinating schedules, setting meetings, and interfacing with on-site staff, national church leadership and local congregations.
    • Creating and processing documents and reports, maintaining policies and procedures, answering telephones, accurately and promptly filing correspondence and documents.
    • Making hospitality arrangements for board meetings, ministry conferences, etc. and overseeing their successful execution.
    • Making appointments and travel arrangements as requested.
    • Creating professional-looking Word documents, accurate Excel spreadsheets and impactful PowerPoint presentations.

  1. Supervise receptionist and maintain proper coverage of the switchboard. This includes supervision of all job-related responsibilities assigned to this position. 

       2. Covers receptionist desk for 4 hours per week greeting visitors and forwarding phones as appropriate.

      3.  Processing applications from local churches relating to property ownership, risk management, including maintaining the information on  spreadsheets

      4.  Coordinate American Express and Huntington MasterCard accounts. Order cards as requested by department heads and approved by COO.  Maintain files on existing cards keeping same up-to-date.

      5.  Assist COO in preparing agenda and minutes for the Board of Directors annual meeting.

      6.  Serve as recording secretary for the BOA Budget and Finance Committee. This also includes obtaining AHSM agency and Affiliate annual reports and audits for review by the committee for their October meeting.

     7.  Prepare for and coordinate arrangements for the meetings including preparation of nametags, nameplates, committee meetings rooms, and arranging for and setting up meals, as necessary.

     8.  Work with COO in coordinating insurance policies for the WMC and FMCUSA, completing applications and reviewing policies as needed and maintaining files of same.

     9.  Maintains updated files for all contractors for the World Ministries Center.

   10.  Supervise purchasing of supplies. This includes supervising proper billing of expenses to the departments.  Receptionist may assist with this task as delegated by supervisor.

   11.  Supervise the marking for payment of all invoices related to the maintenance of the building; i.e. utility, insurance, phone, copiers,  supplies, etc. Receptionist may assist with this task as delegated by supervisor.

   12.  Upon request, assist and/or give advice to other departments related to planning meetings, meals, receptions, decorating, etc. for  functions hosted at the World Ministries Center.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND DEMONSTRATED ABILITIES/SKILLS

The Executive Administrative Assistant must have strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy, along with the ability to multi-task, use time wisely, and complete thorough follow-through.  The ability to maintain confidentiality is extremely important. 

Verbal and written communication skills along with an ability to relate well with people is needed. Must be capable to maintain a pleasant, gracious demeanor in interactions with all visitors, callers and staff.

Individual should be experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite.  Exposure to the Free Methodist Church is a plus.

UPWARD SPORTS Director Position Description
The UPWARD SPORTS Director is primarily responsible for starting and operating a new sports ministry program at Cornerstone Community Church (in St. Petersburg, FL), organizing and promoting church-sponsored sports programs for elementary age children. This is a new, full-time position starting at $23K/year with an anticipated start of July 1st.
Responsibilities
• Develop and distribute promotional materials in conjunction with UPWARD SPORTS for basketball, soccer, and cheerleading sessions. Publicize programs through print and digital media.
• Recruit, train, and empower any support personnel needed to ensure program effectiveness – volunteer coaches, referees, concession help, game day MC, etc.
• Organize teams, schedule games and practice times, order uniforms, etc.
• Ensure the focus of the program is on faith development in addition to skill development.

• Set priorities, develop a work schedule, and monitor progress towards goals. Determine strategies to move Delphos Trinity forward in its mission to reach the community.
Job Requirements
• Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that results in an effective witness for the Gospel. It is expected that the Upwards Director will be actively involved in Cornerstone Community Church.
• Report directly to the Senior Pastors working along with all staff.
• Thrives working with children in a sports setting (paid or volunteer).

• This position is a new one with a lot of work up front with launching the new program. The summer will be the time to promote and build the first fall season and subsequent seasons. Leadership Team – Roles and Responsibilities
(as outlined by Upward Sports)

The League Director – Will oversee the league creation and be the contact person for us to help guide you through that process. Unless delegated, this will include utilizing player management software, to draft teams, manage rosters, scheduling, and placing your league order. The League Director will oversee all of the commissioners and delegate the duties accordingly. In addition, this position requires someone who is willing to continually cast the vision of the ministry and WHY this is MORE THAN a sports league.

Advertising and Halftime Commissioner – Before the season begins, this position will help saturate your community with awareness by distributing marketing materials into the community while also building a digital presence through web and social media platforms
As the halftime commissioner, it is this position’s responsibility to make sure activities take place at the halftime of every game hour. Finding someone to lead these activities at each halftime is the halftime commissioner’s primary focus. The best method for finding people to lead your halftimes is to recruit eight halftime captains – one for each week of games. It will be the responsibility of these halftime captains to find halftime leaders to run the activities on their assigned game day.

Prayer and Host Commissioner – The Prayer commissioner is responsible for recruiting prayer partners, distributing reminders, hold a prayer kickoff meeting, communicate throughout the season with prayer partners.
As the host commissioner, you have two important and unique roles. Your first responsibility is to find a family on each team in your league to serve as a host family to those parents on the team that are not currently connected with a local church. As you seek to reach your community for Christ, it is important to know that many of the families in your league not associated with a church may be looking for a place to belong.

We believe that the best way to get families connected is to establish relationships with those in your church body that have common ground, which is being a parent of an Upward Sports Participant. It is through these relationships that these parents are more likely to connect to what your church has to offer. As a pastor once said, “the people in your community are not looking for a friendly church, they’re looking for friends.”
The second responsibility of the host commissioner is to oversee follow-up process and coordinate with your church’s continuing outreach areas. Throughout the season, relationships will be established between parents, coaches and participants. However, when the season is over, it is not the time for these relationships to end. Follow-up is an essential piece of your Upward Sports Ministry. Without follow-up, the ministry loses much of its effectiveness. Follow-up provides the opportunity to encourage these people to become intentionally involved in a local church. This also provides a chance to address the uncertainties people may have with salvation and church in general.

Coach and Referee Commissioner – Recruit, Train, and evaluate coaches and referees – Upward Sports provides all coach training and evaluation resources.

The bottom line, the objective for each of these leadership roles should be to LOVE leaders in order for those leaders to SERVE athletes and their families in order to maximize the number of Gospel opportunities each season.

Sonshine Kids’ Daycare Director

Overview:
Sonshine Kids’ Daycare is a ministry of the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and an outreach to the surrounding Thumb community. Currently the daycare serves 148 children (six weeks to twelve years old), 92 families and employs a staff of 26. The Director will oversee each child’s daily needs, ensuring the highest quality care and ensuring that the center is functioning at the highest ministry and professional levels possible.

Accountability:
All staff are accountable to the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church Senior Pastor and the Pastor’s Team. The director also has an accountability to and collaborative relationship with the Sonshine Kids’ Daycare Board.

Lawrence Free Methodist Church is located in Lawrence, KS about 30 miles west of Kansas City. LFMC is part of the Great Plains Conference of the Free Methodist Church in North America, and is also a member of the Willow Creek Association. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Purpose: We are looking for a full time youth Director who will help our church reach the young people of our community to take our youth group and church to the next level.

To accomplish this the candidate will disciple our young and senior teens, training them to influence their friends and family for Christ.

Good News Church is an intergenerational church with an average weekly attendance of 82. There is currently one children’s ministry hour that subdivides into a younger group and an older group, two youth ministry groups (middle school and high school), a young adult connect group, and four other adult groups. The primary responsibility of this position, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is to mobilize and empower ministry groups that make disciples of Jesus.

Midwest City FMC – Director of Youth Ministries

 

Purpose: To work with the entire church in leading middle school and high school students to faith in Christ, and helping youth grow in Christian maturity, through: development and administration of programs; building relationships; and recruiting, equipping and overseeing volunteer workers and possible school interns.

Responsible to: Senior Pastor and Director of Christian Education

Description of Duties:
• Designing Wednesday evening worship/fellowship/teaching meetings
• Planning monthly special weekend activities for teens, and possible after-school programs, in addition to being a key part of the planning and direction of a
summer camping experience
• Mentoring or encouraging teens who need particular encouragement with spiritual, social, or academic issues, or assisting others to do so
• Teaching a teen Sunday School class
• Finding new ways of connecting youth from otherwise unchurched homes with the teen group and the church as a whole
• Helping to build bridges of friendship to parents and siblings of otherwise unchurched youth in the group, for the sake of Christ and the church.
• Interacting with nearby Christian colleges to discover potential interns to assist in the ministry here, and to help expose our youth to options for their
future training.

Position Summary: This is a practitioner ministry position that enables one to develop, practice and
strengthen their job and ministry skillsets. Our objective is to offer a platform of opportunities that
include the following: Evangelism/Discipleship, Service Learning, Church and/or Pastoral Leadership,
Cross-Cultural Ministry and Partnership Engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Lead or assist with all facets of our ministry including First Stop drop-in center, Shoe Away
Hunger, Food programs, and Holiday Help.
Lead or assist with Christian ministry to those in need, to our partner ministries and to offer key
servant leadership, prayer and teaching support to the Cedarcrest Church congregation.
Learn, develop and practice skills such as customer service, donor engagement and retention,
Grant writing/Reporting, fundraising, social media, web content management, data collection and
reports, resource procurement and food ordering, safety training, inventory management, etc.
Lead or assist with customer service, deliveries, pick-ups, cleaning and facility care.

Qualifications

Our preference is for someone that has completed post-secondary education.
